What is included at no extra charge
- Shipping is free on every order, to both the United States and Japan. There is no minimum and no surcharge for the larger sizes.
- The design itself is free. You pick a style, upload a photo, and the first batch of candidate images costs nothing. There is no separate artist fee or setup fee.
- Re-downloads are free and unlimited. If you buy the digital file, the download stays on your order page long term.
What does cost extra
- USD 0.50 per subjective regeneration. Your daily free generations are limited; once they run out, changing the style or the photo because you changed your mind is billed at USD 0.50 each. Regenerations needed because something broke on our side are always free.
- Import duties on some Japan orders. Framed posters and postcards reach Japan from our US facility, so duties may be charged to the recipient (low-value orders are usually exempt). Matte and luster posters for Japan are printed inside Japan, so no import duties apply.
The cheapest way to get a large print
Buy the digital file for USD 10.99 and print it yourself. The file is a watermark-free image of roughly 3,584 x 4,800 pixels, which is about 299 DPI at 12x16 inches, so a local print shop can output the same size we sell framed for USD 94. You give up the frame, the mat, and the free delivery, but you keep the file forever and can print it more than once. If you want both, adding the digital file to a print order costs USD 5.49 instead of USD 10.99.
Why the framed poster costs several times more
The framed price covers a physical wood frame, a cut mat, glazing, protective packaging for a rigid item, and the higher shipping cost and breakage risk that come with it. A 12x16 framed poster is USD 94 while the same artwork on 12x16 luster paper is USD 30.99 — the artwork is identical, the difference is entirely the frame and getting it to you intact.
